Individualized treatment plans include intensive therapeutic and behavioral interventions, group work, physical exercise, outdoor-based experiences, and a variety of enrichment programs including equestrian, art, culinary, horticulture, and nature therapy studies.
Ironwood's main Farmhouse campus is located in Morrill, Maine and the Ridge Maine short term program is located at the Lakehouse campus in South China, Maine.
Position
Summary:
This is a full time position, shared between both the Farmhouse and Lakehouse campuses.
Qualified candidates are individuals who take pride in the work they do to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the Ironwood community.
Daily tasks include general housekeeping duties, simple repairs, and yard maintenance.
Weekly deep clean of campus housing is completed on Saturdays.
Ideal candidates are motivated to have a positive impact in the lives of teenagers, as they serve as a mentor and role model by demonstrating essential life skills to the residents of Ironwood.
Students are responsible for household chores and keeping their personal spaces clean.
The Custodian may at times work alongside our residents, supporting them in learning and completing tasks, as well as coming behind to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness is maintained.
Position Functions &
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited:
Vacuum, sweep and mop common areas Sanitize surfaces and high touch points Mop bathroom floors, showers, clean toilets and countertops Remove trash and replace bags Stock and maintain cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
Deep clean spaces as needed Assist with property management tasks such as, snow removal, watering plants, mowing lawns Follow all health and safety regulations Report property damage or larger maintenance related concerns as encountered Appropriately engage with residents, as directed, within established professional boundaries and in keeping with Ironwood policies & procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:
Required Competencies:
Follows written and verbal instructions from the Facilities/Campus Manager Support and promote a culture of inclusion and respect among students and fellow staff in our school and community Works well independently and demonstrates strong time management skills Collaborates with other employees and management as needed Must maintain appropriate boundaries with, and confidentiality of, Ironwood residents & programming Professional conduct, in accordance with Ironwood policies Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets Required/Preferred
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of professional cleaning experience is preferred.
Must pass criminal background check, including fingerprinting High School Diploma or equivalent required Physical Requirements Must be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing and/or walking for most of the shift, bending, climbing, and lifting Must be able to ascend and descend ladders Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Must be able to bend over and stoop down repeatedly Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment Must be able to adhere to process protocol Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner Job Type:
